MINI-SOCCER DIVISIONS

Mini-soccer is a scaled down game for younger children. Rules for this game are at the Condensed Rules link. More information on the philosophy behind mini-soccer is available on the Mini-Soccer page.

Tykes

The Tykes are children born in 2005 and 2006. The divisions are mixed boys and girls.Games are Monday and Wednesday. Games are about 55 minutes long starting at 6:00pm. Games are played at fields at LaVerendrye School. See the  map if you are not sure where it is. The Squirts play in the hour following the Tykes.

Tykes are given a soccer shirt (which you keep). They can wear shorts or long pants depending on the weather. If it is cold, they can wear a heavier shirt, but their soccer jersey should go over top. They can wear cleats and probably should wear shin guards, but it is not necessary. The fee is $47. For most children this is their first attempt at soccer. Follow the Tykes Expectations link to see what is expected at this age

Atoms

The Atoms Divisions are children born in 2001 and 2002. This division is mixed boys and girls. They play at the LaVerendrye school field beside the new French High School on High Street. (on the map this field is shown as "PRO"  since it was originally know as the Prospect field.)  .    Go to the Atoms Expectations to see what is expected of the Atoms group. Players at this age level and older should be wearing shin guards. Players at this age are faster and stronger and bumps and bruises can occur. The shin guards do not have to be expensive.  Players may also want to wear cleats.
