MINI-SOCCER DIVISIONS

Mini-soccer is a scaled down game for younger children. Rules for this game are at the Condensed Rules link. More information on the philosophy behind mini-soccer is available on the Mini-Soccer page.

Tykes

The Tykes are children born in 2004 and 2005. The divisions are mixed boys and girls.Games are Monday and Wednesday. Games are about 55 minutes long starting at 6:00pm. Games are played at fields at LaVerendrye School. See the  map if you are not sure where it is. The Squirts play in the hour following the Tykes.

Tykes are given a soccer shirt (which you keep). They can wear shorts or long pants depending on the weather. If it is cold, they can wear a heavier shirt, but their soccer jersey should go over top. They can wear cleats and probably should wear shin guards, but it is not necessary. The fee is $47. For most children this is their first attempt at soccer. Follow the Tykes Expectations link to see what is expected at this age

Atoms

The Atoms Divisions are children born in 200 and 2001. This division is where the first changes occur. There are Boys Atoms on Mondays and Wednesdays only. They play at the LaVerendrye school field beside the new French High School on High Street. (on the map this field is shown as "PRO"  since it was originally know as the Prospect field.)  . At his age level we also have all girls teams, the Girls Atoms, on Mondays and Wednesdays only. Their games will be played at the La Verendrye school field   Go to the Atoms Expectations to see what is expected of the Atoms group. Players at this age level and older should be wearing shin guards. Players at this age are faster and stronger and bumps and bruises can occur. The shin guards do not have to be expensive.  Players may also want to wear cleats.

Girls Atoms

Most girls at this age want to play with other girls. The boys are getting more aggressive and the girls are getting more sociable and want to play with their friends. The Girls Atoms meet this need. Girls atoms play on Monday and Wednesday only. If a girl wants to play with another girl make sure this information is written on the registration form. Players should wear shin guards at this age. They do not need to be expensive. The fee is $47.

Boys Atoms

We realized we would not have the number to create a Skill Atom Division this year. Most of the Skill Atom players were boys. It seemed logical if we have a Girls Atom division, we should also have a Boys Atom Division. So what was once a mixed group will be a Boys division this year. This continues with all older age divisions. Boys Atoms play at LaVerendrye school field Players in this division should be wearing shin guards. They do not need top be expensive. The fee for this division is $47.
